This is a good way to use lemongrass green leaves that are usually discarded to use only the inside of the stem. Combine with ginger and cinnamon are unsurpassed.
The tea so prepared is not only very good warm, for cold winter days, but also is perfect in the summer served cold: keep it in a bottle in the refrigerator after having it cool.
- 1 lemongrass stalk (the green leaves,
about 20 g)
- a piece of fresh ginger (about 30 g)
- cinnamon powder
about 1 liter of tea
Wash the lemongrass leaves, knot them together because they are very long and put them in a pot. Peel the ginger, cut it into slices and put also it in the pot.
Add half or a teaspoon of cinnamon powder (according to your taste), pour a little more than a liter of water in the pot and bring to a boil.
When the water boils, lower the heat and simmer for
10 minutes. Serve tea, to taste, sweetening it with a little honey or maple syrup.
